A cold night's thought

Here I am in this cold foreign land
No one to talk to no money in hand
How I miss you, I can't understand
The way I kissed you on the white marble sand

"Darling I love you", I uttered in lust
Yet I didn't mean it, admit I must
I enjoyed her love and her kind loving trust
Now I know; without her I'm damned to dust

Thus, to god I pray, every day
Let me see her let me say
In her arms, warm, loving, stay
I did my love, for my sins, pay

I hope to stand tall and right
Holding her, my body, tight
Staring in those big eyes bright
"Love me darling, love me tonight"

Yet I am here, alone and cold
Lost in memories of times so old
I had her love, yet I wasn't enough bold
Now I'm damned for life, my soul, devil, sold
